Sarah Highlen, Founder
GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO & BEYOND
Marketing Strategy, SEO, Website Design
Before I founded Grapevine in 2016, I spent 17 years in marketing and website development, building comprehensive experience while working with clients across diverse industries, including consumer packaged goods, non-profits, government, and service-based businesses. I was inspired to start a farm marketing agency after helping a farmer friend with her marketing and seeing the tremendous impact it had on her sales.
I'm passionate about local food and supporting "good food" businesses of all kinds. When I'm not marketing, I'm usually growing, buying, cooking, photographing, or eating food. I served as a founding member and inaugural president for the NWI Food Council. You can see more of my background on my LinkedIn profile.
My partner Jeffrey and I are digital nomads with a base camp in Grand Junction, Colorado. We typically spend at least one to two months in each place we visit, and we love exploring the local food scene as we travel. We buy as much of our food as possible direct from the farmer and enjoy meeting local farmers in each new place we stay.

MAYAGUEZ, PUERTO RICO
Website Design, Custom GrazeCart Websites, Package Design, Logo Design, Squarespace
I was lucky enough to be able to explore my creativity throughout my childhood through visual arts and dance, which later evolved into a passion for graphic design. In 2013 I received my BFA in Graphic Design and later went on to study a private Master’s degree in Information Graphic Design in Barcelona, Spain.
I bring 14 years of design experience to the team and have worked with a wide variety of industries and in multiple areas of advertising and graphic design. I’m happiest when working with small businesses to generate brand growth and I’m excited to bring my enthusiasm to the Grapevine team!
When I’m not working designing brand identities, email marketing, websites, and social media content, I have fun tinkering with my urban garden, crocheting, and getting creative in the kitchen. Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn!

SAN DIEGO, CA & BEYOND!
Farm Websites, Shopify, Squarespace, Wordpress, Klaviyo
My journey began in the fashion industry. At 18, I left Ohio for the Big Apple to study Fashion Business Management at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Even with a decade of experience in the industry, I realized early on how challenging it was to find a company whose values aligned with my own.
In 2021, I made the decision to leave my corporate job in NYC and move to Hawaii to work on an organic farm. While there I was able to immerse myself in a new environment to learn, reset, and reprioritize. After a transformative few months, I returned and began touring with Outstanding in the Field (OITF), an organization that creates farm-to-table events on farms all across the country. Traveling with OITF exposed me to an incredible variety of locally grown food, farms of all sizes doing amazing work, chefs and restaurants with innovative approaches, and a community of passionate individuals dedicated to the food space.
Following a beautifully exhausting six months on the road, I was brought onto the OITF team to help build and launch a merchandise program. I managed all aspects of the program including sourcing, fulfillment, e-commerce, and visual merchandising. Since stepping away from the corporate world, I’ve gained invaluable experience freelancing for small businesses. These projects have allowed me to take full ownership of Shopify e-commerce creation, mindful product development, operations, email marketing, and more.
These experiences taught me so much about running businesses and expanded my love for fresh, locally sourced food, connecting with people over food, and building community. This journey also led to the inception of my own small business, Community Supported Apparel Cooperative (COSAP Co-op), which focuses on ethical apparel sourcing while educating and supporting organizations working to improve our food system.
Since leaving my corporate job, it has been a journey to find the right role that feels aligned and impactful so I am thrilled to have found my place with Grapevine. When I’m not working you can find me hunting for treasures at the local thrift store, stocking up on fresh produce at the farmers market, running, cooking, or traveling!
